Well-illustrated and large-format 20-page brochure published by the Philadelphia Water Department in 1959, touting the automation of the Torresdale (now called Baxter) Water Treatment Plant in Northeast Philadelphia, the largest of three plants in the city. Subjects include Samuel Baxter, water treatment steps, pre-treatment, construction, "The Filter Building: An Electronic Water Factory," and "Post-Treatment: Touches for the Consumer" (including chlorination and fluoridation).
