Jane Mork Gibson, historical consultant for PWD, compiled this report on the reservoir (in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia) from its conception through its construction and completion in 1889. For years this reservoir, with a capacity of nearly 1 billion gallons, was the largest in the city's water supply system.
